Change Comes With NCT U!

Alright, alright, alright! New changes are coming!
Hello all my MYs! If you have been visiting the site regularly, you have noticed some small differences. Do not be alarmed. We haven't been bought by any company, I assure you. God willing, The Modern Youth will continue to showcase the biggest and best movies and music from all around the world for the next ten years! However, yours truly has been reconsidering how content is being shown at this blog. So I am actively making changes to the site that will stretch the next couple of months. Here are some of the things you should be looking out for:

Reshuffling tags
When I began this site, I was writing (on average) one or two posts every two month. Now I am making close to twenty posts a month if you do not consider the recent "business trip". So some of the one-post tags that were okay yesterday are now hiding the larger tags that cover multiple posts. More tags with less content means more time wasted looking for certain things. So I'm bringing the more populated tags to the fore-front. Hopefully, this should help many of you get to what you want, quicker.

Addition of the "Viewer Discretion" Label
I love meaningful art in all its forms. However, here on The Modern Youth, we do not showcase content that contains graphic representations of genitalia or sexual intercourse. It is very risqué and comes with legal headaches that I would rather not deal with. However, it is highly likely that parents visit this site (I do share some works from the 90s). So I am currently going through every post and making sure to include "Viewer Discretion" headers on some of the posts that contain works with strong language or reference to drugs/drug use. That way, parents are not playing Russian roulette when looking for family-friendly content.

More and More Content!
Finally, now I'm at the exciting part! One of the reasons I started this site was to raise awareness to works from all over the world. Art expression is not limited to country or race, right? Whether you are Native American, Vietnamese or Australian, you appreciate art. Or at least I hope you do. :P

So far, I have shown works from the United States, Africa,Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia. But The Modern Youth is nowhere close to being a hub for international works related to movies and music. There are still artists out there who not enough people know about. So I'll continue looking for works that pique my interest and share them, in hopes that more notable figures see it and give these artists the attention they deserve. So let's get to it!

Here is a new one from a Korean pop group by the name of NCT U. It is called "The 7th Sense", courtesy of SMTOWN.

    1. Yes. I hope so too. It is more likely that they may get a chance to have their song aired on lesser known stations. However, not many Asian artists become well-known outside of Asia (especially in the States) if the fan-base does not push for it by promoting the songs they make on social media.

I assume you know Psy. Well, there is an article I read during Psy's rise to fame that I believe best explains his popularity boost from Gagnam Style. This is the link: https://rhoyblog.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/psy-why-and-how-did-he-get-so-famous/

Some of the publicity is credited to how the singers market their songs. But if the crowd does not do much to promote them via re-enactments, reviews and such on popular social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, then it's likely that the singers will remain famous to the small set of fans that they cater to.

In short, we music lovers who promote these songs on our sites are the first line when it comes to raising awareness. However, it is up to the avid fans to come together and find a unique way to promote these songs beyond their country.
