Hello, dear friends. My name is Mort and I am new to the world of blogging. I am, however, not new to literary self-expression. I spend much of my time reading articles and writing stories. I have written articles of my own for sites like CampusBuddy.com.
Just to give you a quick glimpse of my life, I graduated from engineering last semester. However, due to the crappy economy, I have been out of work (which sucks to say the least). Needless to say, I am not one to wallow in my own self-pity so I have decided to go back to school and pursue computer science--but not before becoming familiar with the application that will consume the next three years of my life--the internet. So I took the little programming skills I acquired from my degree and began learning web creation and editing languages like HTML and CSS. Right now, I have a comfortable grasp of certain HTML and CSS concepts but I still need to work on a couple more samples before I create my first website from scratch. In addition, it would be horribly unwise to launch myself without formally allowing the great people of the world wide web to get a feel of who I am.
Which brings me to why I'm here. I always enjoy speaking my mind and I usually spend much of my time researching things like politics, stock, current events and software. So why not go a step further and blog about them. However, I'll dedicate this blog to movies, inspirational stories and current events that relate to the youths of today.
I do hope my contributions to the world wide web are satisfactory to a great majority of you. There is much to talk about. So much, as a matter of fact, that I find myself lost in thought. So I will conclude this post by asking those who have been blogging for years (and those who have just started, like myself), why did you decide to take up blogging and how has it worked out for you so far? If you just started blogging, feel free to respond to only the first question.
