Skrillex, Mozart and Mutant Zombies

So I recently got into Skrillex (please don't judge). I have heard about him but never really cared for his music until two weeks ago. How can I put this--Skrillex, in my opinion, definitely has a unique way of synthesizing different sounds and it works for him and his fan base. However, the claims that some Skrillex enthusiasts (and even a couple of media junkies) have made about him being our current-day Mozart, is really stretching it. Skrillex is definitely gifted, but Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The way he made music, whether it was purely allegro, adagio or a combination of both, was best suited for the times. If you studied classical music, you know that each piece that made up a cycle, was so heavily structured that it was easy to be labelled as a nonconformist or musical delinquent. If a composer strayed too far from an allegro or his pieces had too many uneven beats, it was deemed as occupational suicide. Back then, structure was key.

Nowadays, music is less on structure and more on expression. When I listen to Skrillex, I don't see a field full of flowers like I do with Mozart. It's purely emotional. So I don't see it as fair to compare Skrillex to Mozart. Skrillex is Skrillex and Mozart is Mozart. The sky is above us and the ground is below us. Comparing these two people would be like comparing mutant zombies to urban cannibals. It should never be attempted.

But that's just my opinion. What do you guys think? Is Skrillex our modern-day Mozart? I also embedded a song from both of these musicians. I'm probably going to take a lot of heat for putting Mozart and Skrillex in the same airspace, but I'll get over it. :)
