Hopsin's Gift to Hip Hop: Ill Mind of Hopsin 5

Have you ever found yourself wondering how something so awesome exists, without you ever knowing about it? A couple days ago, one of my really good friends (and a regular viewer of The Modern Youth), introduced me to this rap song called "The Ill Mind of Hopsin 5". The song is at least two years old, but it is one of a series of songs from The Ill Mind Of Hopsin that I highly advise rap enthusiasts to listen to.

Why? For starters the song is quite unique, in part because of the beat and instrumentals. The background music has that west coast vibe with an ominous yet playful undertone. In a way, it is like witnessing an angel falling from the sky while you are watching a circus performance.

Then the lyrics are absolutely mind-blowing. The rapper, Hopsin, covers a variety of issues from his regret for taking part in misleading fans, to rappers who make music solely for the money. In essence, the song has a clear and concise message that is relatable to everyone: don't try to blindly imitate everything you hear and see in the rap industry. Instead, expand your mind and consider whether the risks for living the life of your idols are worth taking.

As usual, I have included a link to the music video. Click and enjoy! Also, don't forget to tell me what you think about "The Ill Mind of Hopsin 5". Can you relate to it and do you think it is worth listening to?
