Transformers Age Risking Extinction: Rating of a 6.5/10

The uncertainty swirling around the fate of the various characters, as well as the incomplete development of Tessa Yeager, does a great deal in devaluing the worth of the franchise. Along with the overuse of certain theatrical elements, the once revered, action-packed franchise known as Transformers, risks committing the same mistake as other long-running franchises (like Land Before Time and  Terminator).
That mistake is diluting the value of the franchise through constant addition of characters and the introduction and oversimplification of new arcs. Until the release of the next Transformers movie, this one does not hold the merits necessary to attain a passable grade.

Nonetheless, the quality of the movie's special effects and musical score, as well as the conclusive end to Lockdown (assuming he is not somehow reincarnated), cannot be overlooked. Therefore, I give Transformers: Age Of Extinction a 6.5/10.
