Respecting Both Sides of the Coin

The world we live in is neither good nor bad. It is a mixture of good and bad. The same thought can be extended to all living things, as well as ideas, that exist within our world. For example, many of us hold unfavorable views of our country's government. We can come up with so many occasions where our government has failed to protect our personal interests. Yet we are unable to imagine a world without government because a world without government is a world where humans are not managed, ruled or controlled by other humans. Whether by forceful means or voluntary submission, we manage and are managed by others to accomplish an overall goal which can range from feeding, housing or protecting hundreds of people, to satisfying our own selfish ambitions.

So how does our world's "personality" affect us? Because our world is a mixture of good and bad things, there is no situation that can be explained through a single outcome or thought process. It is like trying to capture a three-dimensional cube in a two-dimensional, straight plane. You cannot do it without destroying the cube, tricking your mind into ignoring sections of the cube or changing how you interpret the plane. Therefore, we have the choice of accepting multiple ways of understanding a situation. Given that music is a form of expression, I find it odd that so many songs made by artists focus entirely on the favorable or unfavorable aspects of a situation. Granted, simple songs are easier to listen to, songs that better represent life trials tend to open us to other ways of approaching everyday problems.

Through a bit of digging, I have been able to find a number of songs that cover both sides of the coin, in order to deliver one resounding and effective message. One song, in particular, is quickly becoming one of my personal favorites of 2015 because of its chill-out chorus and intellectual verses. This song is called "Yin x Yang" by Lusive and I do believe you all will enjoy it.
