A couple of days ago, I saw the cover video to this song recommended to me by YouTube. It is named "Every Passing Hour" by a musician named Helios.
Usually I ignore anything with "Recommended" next to it. The reason is that YouTube recommends stuff based on previous videos that I have watched. Sad to say, Youtube as been 3 for 19 with regards to recommending material that I like. This time, however, YouTube got it right (4 for 20 now).
Once I clicked the link and gotten past the pesky advertisements, I waited patiently for the song to load. When the first couple of notes invaded my ears, I felt like I was thrown onto a field of dandelions shrouded by clouds. The transparent ground seemed to move with the clouds. As I peered through the cloudy ground, I could see into another world similar to the one I currently reside in. It was truly a freaky experience, but not in a terrifying way.
Since that time, I've been listening to a number of songs by Helio (most of them from his Yume album, which is one out of many albums that he has released since 2000). What puzzles me is why no artist like Adele or Lana del Rey has tried to collaborate with him. His music with Adele's or Lana del Rey's voice would make a pretty solid single.
That's just my thoughts though. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think? Do you believe a collaboration between Helio and Lana del Rey or Adele would make for an instant chart-topping single? Here is the video of "Every Passing Hour" from another fan of his work. The artwork used in the video, which is done by Niken Anindita, really complements the music. I wonder if Anindita does cover albums?
