Forget 2 Cars, I Got 2 Phones!

Here is a really "phone" song (see what I did there). It's called "2 Phones" by Kevin Gates. All jokes aside, I enjoy this song not just because of the dope beat. I enjoy the song because of the focus, which is not cars, houses or girls. From my understanding of the song, the focus is on a phone--or rather two phones.

Not many rappers or R&B artists seem to be interested in boasting about their phones or tablets. I find that a little odd considering the age we live in, where technological advancement is based on data speed and storage. It's all good though. Like any other trend, it will take some time for the mobile trend to catch on in the music industry. Once that happens and more artists make "mobile" songs (I'm on fire today!), I'm sure I'll regret writing this post. It probably has already happened. I wouldn't know because I still use a block phone and have been using it for a couple of years now. I'm not complaining. It's probably a blessing in disguise. Knowing me, a smart phone would fuse to my hand because I wouldn't be able to put it down. :)
