Desiigner Panda Music Video: Dabs and Camera Shots [Viewer Discretion Advised!!]

I have never seen a man dab so much….

Desiigner - Panda

Is he okay? Desiigner released the music video to his hit single “Panda” and I have mixed feelings about it.

On the one hand, the camera shots are on-point. I mean, you really follow Desiigner as he parades down the dark alleys and into shady, poorly lit buildings. The adrenaline rush from listening to the song is perfectly portrayed in the music video. From holding a person at gunpoint to popping doughnuts in a BMW X-6, you get thrown from one crazy situation to another.

On the other hand, I’m not into watching a “floating Desiigner”. He is obviously under the influence (or pretending to be under the influence) of a drug or a combination of drugs. I admit, watching him dab is funny. But can’t he be funny without being under the influence? I think he sells himself short by having to portray himself as being high, in order to have fun.

I also did not enjoy how black people were portrayed in this music video. I get that the song is about someone who has connections to people of questionable professions. However, the whole situation--the fighting, the hold-up, the depiction of prostitution--was deplorable. If not for the song, I would likely not want to watch this video. Doctors, engineers, biologists and teachers do come from these communities, believe it or not. Why would the only symbol of hope be a hunk of metal? What happened to human achievement? That’s just my thoughts. Let me hear what you guys think?
