When I heard that a live-action movie of Ghost In The Shell was coming to theaters, I all but lost my mind. When I heard that Scarlett Johannson was playing Major Kusanagi, I was a little concerned. The Last Airbender still left a bad taste in my mouth. In my opinion, the acting was no where near stellar and most of the cast did not fit the characters they portrayed. I was not ready to see another great cartoon turned into a less than stellar live-action film.

However, the thing about movies is that 1) my opinion doesn't count and 2) some directors see things that fans don't. Maybe this will be a hidden gem. Scarlett Johannson has shown she is capable of playing strong, confident female roles. So, for the sake of keeping an open mind, I am interested to see how this film will pan out.
